Palm Beach County Update – Thanksgiving Edition!
A Note from the Executive Director
I am so grateful for the opportunity to bring my experience and passion to an organization that is having such a positive influence in Palm Beach County. When I walked into Restoration Bridge International as a volunteer over 3 years ago, I knew that I was going to be involved in some capacity for the foreseeable future. Over the past 2 years, we have been able to increase our impact threefold while building strong partnerships to more efficiently rescue and distribute food to communities most in need. As a result, our organization does not pay for food and we are fortunate to benefit from over 100,000 volunteer hours per year, enabling us to deliver this food to those in need. Restoration Bridge will rescue close to 15 million pounds of food commodities this year that would otherwise go to waste as we meet the vital need of feeding our neighbors through 250 distribution events throughout Palm Beach County. We’re directly handing food to over 1.2 million individuals! These factors along with our community partnerships allow us to efficiently address one of the largest contributing factors to food insecurity: logistics. But even with this level of success, we’re still in need of your help! Together, we can create a future where every family has access to the food they need to lead healthy, productive lives, and your generosity can help ensure that no family in Palm Beach County goes hungry. Thank you. I hope you and your loved ones have a Happy Thanksgiving!
The RBI Update | |||||||||||||||||||||||
Thanksgiving Food Distributions: Meeting the Great Need The holiday season is one of our busiest times, and this year is no exception. In the two weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, we set a goal to distribute 500,000 pounds of food to families in need. Thanks to partnerships with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) and community organizations, we’ve scheduled nine food distribution events to ensure that nearly 15,000 families have a Thanksgiving meal to enjoy. Each box includes a variety of nutritious staples to help families create special holiday meals. Together, we’re making this Thanksgiving brighter for thousands. Behind the Scenes: Honoring Our Volunteers We are deeply thankful for the incredible volunteers who make our work possible. Warehouse Heroes: These volunteers pre-pack thousands of bags of food every month, ensuring that we’re ready for every distribution. Fleet Champions: Our drivers work tirelessly to rescue food donations, transport supplies, and make deliveries to our warehouse. Your time, energy, and dedication impact over 100,000 food-insecure individuals every month. We couldn’t do this without you!
