Greg Wood has a Computer Science degree and Merchant Mariner license from SUNY Maritime College. Born and raised in rural New Jersey he has lived in South Florida for over 30 years. His vast work experience includes captain and mate aboard various types of commercial vessels, project management, program developer, technical manager, and insurance underwriting. Honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Commander from the United States Navy Reserves; his 20 years of service to our country constitutes his belief in service over self. Time and again Greg has put others first; he has a heart for the fatherless and feels called to help widows and orphans. Joining the Board of Restoration Bridge International in 2019 was a natural next step to continue in his lifetime of service, “Helping families and children is a passion of mine. Developing practical strategies to build, strengthen and restore people’s lives, reminding people they have purpose, and their life is valuable by providing them food that they cannot afford; we are giving them hope. We are reminding them that they matter to us.” His wife Loretta, their four adult children, plus one son-in-law are a great encouragement to him. He is blessed to have their love and support as he continues to encourage, love, and honor individuals and children that are suffering from food insecurity.
